Coaching supervision is a formal process of professional support, which ensures continuing development of the coach and the effectiveness of his/her coaching practice through interactive reflection, interpretative evaluation and the sharing of expertise in a safe and ethical environment.
A supervisor’s natural style, philosophy, purpose and process can be very different. Finding a supervisor that you are comfortable with and who complements your coaching approach or requirements is highly recommended.
It is important that you choose a supervisor who is accredited to a coaching governing body such as The European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). This means that the supervisor will follow their Global Code of Ethics which sets the expectation of best practice in coaching, mentoring and supervision, promoting the development of professional excellence.
